Lhatse plateau, Tibet, 2002 | After having crossed the Lhakpa La [pass] at 5,220 meters and spent the night in the small Tibetan town of Lhatse, we travelled on the Tibetan plateau for one whole day towards the second city of Xigaze. The average elevation is around 4,000 meters, and barley is the main crop at this altitude. Lhatse, Tibet, September 2002.
